ISTE NECC Resources from Atlanta
It has been a month since NECC (National Educational Computing Conference) in Atlanta. Once again, it was fantastic with way more content than anyone could absorb. I was fortunate to be able to attend, but even if you were not able to be there you can access resources, blogs, podcasts and some videos from the event.
Check out the presenter handouts here: http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2007/program/presenter_handouts.php
You can browse the sessions and download many presentations and handouts there.
A list of podcasts can be found at: http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2007/program/podcasting.php
Other podcasts can be located through iTunes, by searching for NECC2007, NECC, NECC07 and at the Apple Learning Interchange: http://edcommunity.apple.com/ali/collection.php?collectionID=1087
Check out some of the resources and…Happy Learning!
Will Richardson-From Hand It In to Publish
The session with Will Richardson( weblogg-ed.com) is still several minutes away. People have been in the room for at least 45 minutes- because if you come late you listen from the hall. For those who may not be familiar with the name, Will Richardson is an educator. He has taught Journalism and other language education classes in high schools. More recently, and more famously, he is a blogger and conference presenter. He encourages people, including teachers, to be learners and to love that role. He encourages the use of the tools available on the web to develop authentic audiences for our work- for our students…He will begin soon- several other people whose blogs I read regularly are in the audience as well. Time to start- more coming….
Will has the notes and outline from the session posted at:

Blogger and Podcaster, Wes Fryer who is much more adept at blogging than I am was also at the session. So, here is a link to his blog from the session for your information: http://www.speedofcreativity.org/2007/06/27/from-hand-it-in-to-publish-it-re-envisioning-our-classrooms-by-will-richardson/
I have heard Will speak on other occasions and read his blog frequently. Will is very introspective and knowledgeable. His ideas have true application to where we need to be in education- with or without the technology- but taking advantage of the opportunities that the technology brings, opens doors for us to keep learning and to model that for our kids.
